Omar Gooding releasing a rap album?

Omar Gooding is an actor I respect highly. He used to play on Hanging with Mr. Cooper, he played in the movie Baby Boy, the Barbershop series on HBO, and on the ESPN series playmakers.

He recently hooked up with west coast rapper C-BO and released his first rap cd. He chatted with Allhiphop.com about the project,this is what he had to say:

“It was a couple episodes [of Hangin’ wit Mr. Cooper] where I was spitting,” the former child star told AllHipHop.com. “But I been doing my thing for a little while, below the radar, done had a few deals and what not. People that do know I spit have been waiting for it for so long, and I had a nice little break between films. I linked up with the West Coast Mafia, and we tryna make things happen.”

I think this is cool. It’s just a shame people don’t wholeheartedly accept stars that cross over to different entertainment fields. You have to really work hard to prove yourself in the field your jumping into. It definately can work. Look at Jami Foxx his new Cd sold over 2 million copies. I wish Omar all the success in the world!!
